Self Love is all about finding time for you.
Self Love was built on the idea that everyone deserves time for themselves.
For us, Pilates is more than just a fitness regimen. It’s a profound connection between mind and body that transcends boundaries of age, gender, and fitness level.
Self Love Pilates welcomes everyone with open arms, regardless of where they are on their wellness journey. It’s a sanctuary where you can explore your body’s capabilities, nurture strength, enhance flexibility, and find balance both physically and mentally.
Meet Gemma
I’m such a big believer in self care and self love. I created Self Love Pilates Studio to offer and give people the opportunity to switch off and focus on their health and wellbeing, while having fun and enjoying moving.
Pilates is such a great way to move your body, it helps you connect mind and body whilst challenging yourself. Pilates offers such a wide range of techniques, you can focus on strength training, flexibility, technic, balance training, cardio based exercises and also being more aware of your body in a safe and low impact way.
For me, there’s no better feeling than being a part of someone’s journey, seeing them show up for themselves, challenge themselves, building their strength, and overall finding their self love.
Meet Jane
I love how Pilates can make you feel, it is movement that will benefit your mind and body for the long run. I love that it is a movement that anyone and everyone can do, it’s never too late to start and you will feel a different type of strength from yourself.
I have always loved teaching in the fitness industry and being that person that takes someone from feeling unsure about if they can do something and then being there to see them do it. I love that I am the first person some people see in their day, and I love to think that I make a positive impact to start peoples day right.
I’m so lucky to have started my Pilates teaching with the Self Love Pilates Studio x

Meet Lily
Pilates is 50 minutes where I completely switch off. I’m only thinking about what I’m doing and how my body is feeling. I also think Pilates is a mental game as well because you need to find trust and belief in yourself to perform movements and seeing clients dig deep to find this strength is so inspiring.
I decided to make Pilates a career on an impulse decision of “why not?” And I’m so glad I did because I absolutely adore it, the creativity I can express, the music I play, the people I teach, the progress I see in people’s movement! There is endless fun and up skilling and seeing the incredible progress that everyone at Self Love Pilates Studio makes me so proud because everyone has evolved in their Pilates journey so much.
The 6 principles of the Pilates method
Centering
Every Pilates exercise focuses on the activation of our centre, our core being the region of our abdominal muscles.
Concentration
A Pilates workout involves complete concentration on what our bodies are doing and how they are moving. Including concentration on correct body positioning, posture, movement, activating correct muscle groups and our breathing.
Breathing
In Pilates we focus on a particular breathing pattern that improves the effectiveness of each exercise. Helping to activate the correct muscles & supply oxygen to those muscles while removing waste products, preventing holding the breath.
Flowing Movement
Movements need to be continuously flowing meaning the muscles are being worked in all directions throughout the exercise.
Control
Maintaining control of every movement is very important. Pilates is not only about strengthening the muscles but also controlling the way we contract and the way the body moves. Uncontrolled movements can not only lead to injury but also don't tone and strengthen the correct muscles.
Routine
Regular practice is essential to ensure the mind and body connection is maintained and not forgotten when new patterns of movements are being taught each session. Routine will also ensure gains in strength and flexibility.

Please arrive 5 minutes before your class.
We understand that life happens and sometimes being late is inevitable, however we lock the door 5 minutes after class begins and it will not be opened until class ends.
If you arrive any later than this it becomes risky to take part in the class as you’ve missed the warm up and your body isn’t prepared to move. We do this to avoid causing injury to you and to maintain a flow state to the space.
